West Indies beat India by 14 runs

West Indies knock out India by 14 runs in their World Twenty20 Super Eight Group F match at the Kensington Oval in Bridgetown here on Sunday.

INDIA 155 for nine off 20 overs (Suresh Raina 32, Mahendra Singh Dhoni 29; Kemar Roach 2-38)

To chase a 170 to victory, India put forth 155 /9 as they did not overcome with the fast bowling pace by West Indies.

West Indies began with an impressive start as with chris gayles produces 97 runs that help west indies to surmount 169 for nine against India.

Though, Chris Gayle in partnership with Shivnarine Chanderpaul flow the game on the move as Gayle revive  and gave a smooth start to cover up the run as much as possible. He took charges of every possible thing by assuring not losing any wicket easily.

Gayle took 66 ball off 98runs to sum up a total 169/6 in 20 overs for West indies whereas, India managed to score 155/9 in 20 overs that’s made Raina a top scorer as he produces 32 off 22 balls.

This is India’s second lost in the Super Eight phase and its ruins hopes to be qualified for the semifinals berth.

“In the tournament, the batting hasn’t been up to expectations,” India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said.

West Indies could have been score much easily but fast pacer Ashish Nehra, took three wickets for 35 runs which bowled a superb last over and restricted West Indies to 169.
